This is pretty typical stuff but if any one needs to know how to accomplish so without trying to sort through a source code here is the basics of it.

HTTP
Code: [Select]
Dim battleNetServer As String = "213.248.106.200"
Dim battleNetPort As Long = 6112

Sub Winsock_Connect()
ProxyGranted = False
Winsock.SendData "CONNECT " & battleNetServer & ":" & battleNetPort & " HTTP/1.1" & vbCrLf & vbCrLf
End Sub

Sub Winsock_DataArrival()
Dim dataString As String

Winsock.GetData dataString, vbString

If Not ProxyGranted then
If InstrB(dataString, "200 OK") Then
ProxyGranted = True
SendPacket 0x50
Else
'Denied
End If
Else
ParsePacket dataString
End If

End Sub

Socks4
Code: [Select]
Dim battleNetServer As String = "213.248.106.200"
Dim battleNetPort As Long = 6112

Sub Winsock_Connect()
ProxyGranted = False
Dim ProxySplit() As String, ProxyHash As String, arrIndex As Integer, PortHash As String
'
ProxySplit() = Split(battleNetServer, ".")
For ArrIndex = 0 To UBound(ProxySplit)
ProxyHash = ProxyHash & Chr$(CInt(ProxySplit(ArrIndex)))
Next ArrIndex
'hash ip
PortHash = Hex(battleNetPort)
ProxyHash = Chr$("&H" & Left$(PortHash, 2)) & Chr$("&H" & Mid$(PortHash, 3, 2)) & ProxyHash
'hash port
wS(Index).SendData Chr$(&H4) & Chr$(&H1) & ProxyHash & Chr$(&H0)
End Sub

Sub Winsock_DataArrival()
Dim dataString As String

Winsock.GetData dataString

If Not ProxyGranted Then
Dim VerificationCode As Byte
VerificationCode = Asc(Mid$(dataString, 2, 1))
'
        If Asc(Left$(dataString, 1)) = 0 And Left$(VerificationCode, 1) = 9 And Right$(VerificationCode, 1) = 0 Then
ProxyGranted = True
SendPacket 0x50
Else
'denied
End If
Else
ParsePacket dataString
End If

End Sub

You should just post it up as a free download, that way no one really has to pay for it.

I did say if someone would supply me with a copy I would take a look at cracking it. I doubt the protection is very serious, I would almost bet you could get away with a single JMP or NOP.

And why does it say -aadster on the title if warrior cracked it...

As much as a douchebag that warrior is, I don't doubt that he can crack a gimpy warbot made by a gimpy coder. It's really easy to do with the right application and some real basic knowledge. There's a good one out there that shows you every assembly call with strings attached, even if it's compressed; really wish I remembered the name of it.

I know good ways of protecting apps but it would be extremely stupid of me to say as helm reads these forums.

You can make it harder with good obfuscation, but it'll never be completely safe. If I honestly thought anyone would understand it, I'd go through and explain good ways of making code harder to reverse engineer.

I would say it required a little bit more knowledge simply because it was still packed somehow with something, but all you had to do was follow jmps around, but it would've thrown the elementary reverse engineer off. You're welcome to try it though, I can find the uncracked exe I had. It took me like 20 mins.
