vb6 odd discoloration of buttons
« on: August 07, 2010, 06:23:28 pm »

Has anyone seen anything like this, or know what is causing it?
The distortion goes away when the button is clicked..

The distortion only seems to occur when the button isn't over anything but the form?? Also refreshing the button seems to solve the problem as well. But this shouldn't be needed..

Probably signals a time to move on from such depreciated technology.
In capitalist America, bank robs you.

Choosing to code in an unmanaged language/platform is like choosing a hotel where you have to clean your own room.

When C++ is your hammer, everything starts to look like your thumb

I'm not asking how to code :P It's just a bizarre glitch I've never seen before. I figured out a way to resolve the problem but I would still like to know what causes it.

kind of hard to rip my own code...

if you are the real ben, name all the programs "ben" has done.

I can't even remember half the stuff I've written because there has been so many.

Scanners:
------------
* Pro-X-E
* TLS Lite
* TLS Elite
* Beta Scanner

Op Bots:
-----------
Can't remember the name of my first bot... FuXeD was the tester though I think.
* Flawed Ops
* Element Chat
* Neglected Fury
* Alpha & Omega

Loaders:
-----------
Some other loader....
* Sp1der Loader
* Kry

Private Hacks:
------------------
* Stack Hack (SC)
* Crash Hack (SC)

Misc SC:
-----------------------
* Sniper Assist (SC Snipers)
* Made the first full unhackable 'bald' Snipers map despite what others like to think, and a few other maps that didn't quite make it.

Misc Apps:
-------------
* Gmail Notifier (Works) -- notifies you when you receive e-mails even with multiple accounts.
* Bugger (Non-remote keylogger source)
* A File encryption tool, forgot the name but made a better one any how.
Quite a few others that most people never heard of because they were custom made for only a handful of people.

Other Misc Details:
------------------------
* Started Clan Cell with a girl
* Am from the shitty, cold, and boring state of Maine
* From what I can tell HackeZ is still gay and butt hurt about what I don't know

It's not that hard to believe. Now if I were coming back to bnet, then I would be suspicious; but I have no intentions of doing so.

Oh yeah I forgot about those. One was called Titan and I don't remember the other. Eventually loaders took over and became flooders / droppers. Ah good times... remember demolishing channels and taking out just about every op bot in existence at the time :D

Are you trying to do some sort of owner drawing at some point?

Like if you start a brand new project and add a button, will it similarly fuck up?

Also, I agree with warrior lol.

It doesn't do it on a new project. I tried to rename the button, and add a new button to serve the same purpose and it still kept doing it. A simple button.refresh worked on fixing it but it shouldn't be doing it in the first place.

And I also kind of agree, who cares who I am!!

PS: I just noticed the bnetweb logo changes...

Yes, because VB6 is an archaic and unsupported technology.

So you're not doing some sort of owner drawing on it at all?  I'd be willing to take a look at it and help you at some point.  My aim is Pope Pianka.

if your sure your system isnt trying to hook or subclass or redraw those buttons whatsoever, its either a) low memory, b) 16 bit color incompatability, or c) bad i/o. Check hard drive for bad sectors? Run program compatability wizard?

edit - check integrity of ram?

Just a followup in case any one else was having this problem...

But I believe it was because I had vb6 running with visual themes disabled, which may of been creating conflicts with Windows 7. Problem is gone now.
