Crisis' Suggestions
« on: February 20, 2011, 09:00:45 pm »
Off the top of my head on first use:

Make it more user friendly in terms of aesthetics and what the user is actually seeing:

  • the RTB shifting while I'm highlighting is pissing the hellf out of  me

See the difference?

  • let's be serious; who's actually going to use the chat event animations? they're tacky as hell and no one is going to use them. you're not remaking superiority, so get rid of them.
  • what'd this doing here?

  • text size is waaaay too small. I'd also change the font.

Overall, I'd rework the UI.

What are you highlighting to cause the text to shift? The size, font, icons, animations are all configurable by CSS or javascript. You can simply turn off animations with a setting.

highlighting with the mouse past the borders. well I don't know css or javascript. the animations are a waste of space that could be used for more useful things...

I'll look into the highlighting and taskbar situations. But as of now I am not going to remove the animations. They are there to use if wanted, and virtually don't affect ram at all, since no animation loads the same data as using an animation.

For the record, that's not an RTB.

the rtb is where you put your text, most likely a label

I was talking about big box where all the text is displayed. both the channel list and the messages.

A web browser.

That's a regular text box, actually.  An RTB (rich text box) is what most bots use for their chat windows.  A label is neither of these things.

I have yet to find a way to force the webbrowser control to open links in the users default browser. I can open links not inside the browser control with the default browser, just not the other way around. I'll continue to research this, but as of now I don't see a fix.

Oops, must be an issue with the regex. I'll look into and fix shortly.
