If you are taking a class for it, they provide access to the software you need. I'm skeptical to give out the key because the guy who gave it to me mentioned that if it gets "too hot" then the key won't work and I'm not sure who else he gave it to.

You don't need the full version. Just get the express edition free from Microsoft's website. It'll do everything you need it to.

I know where you can get VS2010 Professional ... sort of ... it's a beta but it seems to work great. Being a beta there is no serial or registration requirement. I have never tried the non-beta so I do not know if there are any restrictions I am unaware of. The ISO is downloaded using a downloader, which downloads directly from Microsoft. I got my downloader from my school so I know it's legitimate, I can't vouch for this link: http://www.mediafire.com/?lm1z25ymljm  -- but the file size is the same. The UI will look something like the attached screen shot.
